Final Blog

This week I finished my entire website. I edited some videos and just uploading some other ones that did not need to be edited. I wrote a few blog posts on my website, and I uploaded a lot of pictures onto my website also. The process of making the website and uploading all of my stuff was very hard, because I had never done anything like that before. Through my project, I had to learn how to make a website, and because of this, I made a completely customized website for my project. Right now I am composing all of my final thoughts, and am making sure that I have completed everything, so I can turn my project in. Next I will be working only on my ted talk. I will be making a presentation so I will be able to present on when we get back from spring break. That is what I did this week, what I am doing right now, and what I plan to do next.

week 10

This week I continued making my website by uploading my videos onto my computer and uploading them straight to the website. This has been taking me way to long, because i keep getting behind with it because I have never made a website before. The process of making a website is so much harder to make than I thought, because I started working on the website a little bit too late, so I have been struggling a bit, but I do well now. Right now I am just finalizing my website so I can be ready to be done with it by the time of the due date. By finishing my project earl, will allow me to have a few days to go over my project to make sure everything is done and done well. So next I just plan to review over everything I completed for my genius hour project, and make sure everything is uploaded and looks good on the website. That is what I did this week, right now, and what I am doing next.

week 9

This week I went through all the videos that I filmed throughout my project, and I edited some of them and I kept a lot of the videos and I scraped a ton also. The main reason I scrapped so many videos, was because some did not turn out well, due to weather, audio, my performance, and or I did not think they were necessary to include. After I did this, I downloaded them to my computer file that I made specifically for genius hour. Right now I am researching the best way to set up my website before I upload my videos on to it. This process, has taken a while because I cannot decide on how I want to do it. Also this is the one area, I am not very comfortable doing because I have never done something with a website. This part has been harder than I ever thought it would be, because I have no experience in this area, which makes it so hard to do. Next I plan to finalize my website once I have all my videos uploaded onto the website. After they are up, I will gradually upload descriptions for each of them. That is what I did this week, right now, and what I plan to do next.

Week 8

This week I finished recording all of the videos for my project, so I will be done recording videos for my genius hour project now. Because of this, this has allowed me to go through all of my videos to figure out which ones I am going to be using for my final product. I have recorded so many videos that I have so many I cannot even use them all for my project. This has actually made my project a ton harder. So right now, I am uploading all of my videos onto my computer and editing the ones that I am going to be using for my project and scraping the ones that I do not need or either did not turn out well or just were unnecessary. This is going to take me a long time because editing videos are not an easy task. Because of this, I will only be editing the big videos that I have made while I was recording. Next week I will be finished with editing my videos, so I will be uploading them to my website. Once they are uploaded to the website, I will most likely be writing descriptions on all of them under the videos. That is what I did this week, right now, and what I plan to do next.

week 7

This week I went to Brentwood Country Club to go meet with my mentor, so he could give me lessons and more ideas for my project. He recommended that I probably already have enough content for my project and I need to start gathering it all together. Because of this, Right now I have been going through all of my footage and have been editing them so they can provide the best content I can give, Also I have been going through all the footage to see if there were some videos I need to scrap and videos that I could do better at and maybe even redo. Next week I plan to upload all of my videos and other documents onto my computer. After I do this, I will be uploading all of them onto my website so I can start putting my entire project together. That is what I did this week, what I am working on right now, and what I plan to do next week.

week 6

This week, I met with my mentor to figure out what else I should do because I am running out of ideas for videos because I have already made a ton of them. Because of this, I have to decided since it wold be pointless to film random video that would not be beneficial, to start grinding out my website because I have had so many problems with it. Right now I have been setting the website up with everything other than the videos and the descriptions. I have been adding account details and backgrounds for everything, to make the website more professional and beneficial. This week, I will be figuring out how to upload my videos to my website, because I honestly do not know how to do that. Once I figure out how to upload them, I will start adding descriptions of them below the video. That is what I have t do next for my project.

week 5

This week, I have been making at home golf videos because my country club is currently closed and I am not allowed to practice there right now. I have also been making videos on what type of equipment is best to use at home, in case people were wondering on what the best things to use if you are trying to practicing putting or chipping at home. Right now I am trying to make my website so I can upload my videos, but I have ran into so many problems because I can not find a website that is that easy to use. I found one that I am most-likely going to use. After I finish making my website, I will be uploading all of my videos and will be writing descriptions about them under all of them.  Once I finish my website, I will be able to progress so much on my genius hour project because it will allow me to see what I need to do much easier.

week 4

There are many ways that my genius hour project helps me stand out to college and helps shape my life plan. The first way my project helps me is that it shows to colleges that I am different and I want t put out extra work for something they I am passionate about and want to improve at. The second way is that it shows colleges that I am unique because not a lot of kids want to put the effort out to challenge them-self to improve while they are helping other people. Another way is that it shows colleges that I want to help others by helping other people improve by using my time to make golf videos for them so they can learn new tips and drills. The main way that colleges with notice me more than someone else is that they will be able to understand and realize that I am a hard worker and am will to put out extra work to help myself and others improve in many new and even older ways. Hopefully colleges will notice that we all are putting in a lot of time and effort to make these projects and to work on them each week. Also hopefully they realize how hard this project is and take that into consideration. My genius hour can potentially shape parts of my life by maybe making me want to do something golf related when I grow up and get a job in the golf industry one day.
